“It was very hard to find matches with other tennis players and renting courts or coaches came with high price tag, so the community was in need of an organisation to come together and offer match-makings and a ranking system through social and competitive circuits, as well as delivering exclusive benefits for the players in Phuket.
Not only to meet new players and establish friendships and acquaintances over a sport that we have in common, but also to provide extra motivation to keep playing and continue to improve our skills. I believe an element of competition can push people to keep fit, and encourage growth both physically and mentally.
Unfortunately, Phuket hasn’t had any sort of organisation over the years, even though some tennis clubs do plan matches for their members, these were only ever for specific people or club members, not the entire tennis community…”
Phuket Tennis League is now offering organised matches and ranking system in hopes of building a fun, social, challenging and rewarding tennis league for all kinds and levels, from advanced players and coaches, to the most recreational players and treat tennis as a hobby or sport activity.
The PTL’s aim is also to become a friendly platform, suited to the tennis community of Phuket where players and tennis clubs alike can turn to for resources and anything tennis-related. The Phuket Tennis League strives to be a network of tennis clubs, coaches, players and related sponsors of all kinds.
PhuketTennisLeague.com has now become the main platform for tennis in Phuket and beyond, and is a driving force for the Tennis eco-system in this province.”
