PTL Masters 2020 – Premier Edition

The PTL Masters Championship 2020 Premier Edition has already made its mark within the tennis community, and within the sports community in general as the most rewarding annual competition in Phuket. It concluded with an Awards Ceremony in presence of honoured guests from Sports Authority of Thailand as well as The Sport Association of Phuket, and was endorsed by World-Famous professional tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, at Thanyapura Sports Lounge on Sunday 28th February 2021.

After 50 matches over 4 days of competition, the Winners and Runners Up of each category and their public audience were rewarded a total of ฿250,000 in prizes and ฿20,000 in cash for their performance and fair-play.

PTL Masters 2020 Awards Ceremony Winner Men Doubles
The PTL Players were also given trophies and medals, all made of recycled plastic collected from the beach as a courtesy of Ocean For All Foundation. 
The winners of the PTL 2020 Masters Titles by category are as follows:
  • Men Doubles = Phannarai (Aum) Choymankong & Angkoon (Arm) Jantaban 🇹🇭

  • Men Single Open League A = Phummin (Kevin) Tonnon ภูมินทร์ โทนอน 🇹🇭

The Semi-Finals, Finals and Awards Ceremony were broadcasted LIVE on PTL’s official Facebook page throughout the weekend of 27-28 Feb. The audiences online and at the venue were given the chance to participate in generous lucky draws to win total prizes worth more than ฿50,000 (e.g sports equipments, healthcare services & treatments, stays and spa at luxurious estates, golfing, brunch/dinner at renowned restaurants and more…)
The atmosphere was very friendly and cheerful with welcome drinks and finger food served, sign of a tennis community at its best.
The PTL co-founders, David Martin & Dorian Bezzina, as well as Khun Damrong Chaisena, Director of Sports Authority Thailand in Phuket, opened the ceremony with speeches;
The players, partners and sponsors were given big applauds for making the PTL successful and lively in just about 8 months. The PTL Masters Championship Premier Edition is an important milestone setting high standards for his next edition or any sports competition in Phuket, said David Martin.
The PTL’s effervescence was stated as an asset for the local sports community and tourism, and will continue to strive even more this year as the COVID situation eases, said Khun Damrong Chaisena. More support will be put behind the Phuket Tennis League to develop and expand further onto more provinces in Thailand by 2022.

As more players will join through the PTL Player Pass program, the league plans to automate it’s match-making experience and grow the access of exclusive benefits for the players. The PTL is currently seeking strategic partners to provide the resources required to meet these goals, said Dorian Bezzina.
The PTL Masters’ competition and ceremonies were very well orchestrated and executed by local boutique Marketing & PR firm VistaBrand, with the support of teams from Intercontinental Phuket Resort and Thanyapura Sports Centre for the venues, as well as Charlie Stevens Visuals and Adriano Trapani for the video and photography.
